The Situation
Johnson & Johnson Vision is fueled by a powerful purposeāto change the trajectory of eye health worldwide. More than 1.3 billion people around the world suffer from visual impairment, yet 80% of this can be prevented or corrected. The company needed a resource to succinctly educate employees, users, and eye care professionals about their cutting-edge insights, scientific, and technological advancements that help solve eye health needs across the globe.
Creative Approach
An on-site visit and design thinking workshop with business unit leaders at the Johnson & Johnson Vision (JJV) headquarters led to a solid understanding of the task at hand. The workshop revealed a need for an immersive experience showing the current and future state of the business within the eye health ecosystem to seamlessly demonstrate the value JJV brings to users.
The market for JJV was first segmented into three distinct age groups: Pediatric Eye, Developed Eye, and Aging Eye. Each of these markets were further divided into user experience journeys. An interactive timeline of treatment options was developed allowing users to easily see where their needs fit within each segment. Whether they fell within pre-treatment, diagnosis, or management, users could quickly find resources and support for their eye health needs.

The Audience
The market of JJV users is very diverse. Distinct audiences within each age segment ranged from myopia and presbyopia sufferers, new and experienced contact lens wearers, beauty lens wearers, and eye doctors themselves. With all these market segments and audiences, it was crucial to show potential treatment journeys for both doctors and patients in a simple and intuitive manner.

The Results
The interactive was revealed onsite at the Johnson & Johnson Vision headquarters during a large-scale customer and employee event. Three massive, seamless touch screens were displayed, allowing multiple users to explore the content, understand the scope of JJV offerings, and educate themselves further around eye health and the support available.
The interactive feature was later mounted in the Johnson & Johnson Vision visitor center as a permanent feature and brought to select trade shows for display in exhibit booths.
